AIA Holds Cultural Event in Abha

ABHA, 17 October 2004 — A cultural program was organized by the Indian community at the Saudi German Hospital auditorium in Abha, which included colorful programs for children.

Iman Aqeel, Hira Farooq, Mehar Server, Jeswin Joseph, Joel, Masab Khalid, Kazima Latif, Jose Anthony, Hira Farooq, Rahat Naaz, Rasha Alyas and Fida Shakoor took the first positions in various categories.

Chief guest was Professor Qasim Salim, of the College of Medicine, Abha. The guest of honor was T.P. Ahmed, marketing officer, Gulf Air, western region.

Other guests were Mohammad Abdul Sami, Sheikh Mohammad Abdul Aziz, Mir Yawar Ali, Mir Fazal Ali Kalim and Dr. Saad, Zafar Qadri.

Aqeel Jamil, general secretary of the Assir Indian Association, welcomed the gathering and highlighted the aims and objectives of AIA. Abdul Razzak, AIA president, appreciated the efforts of parents and children.

The sponsors of the events were Gulf Air, Jeddah, Kanoo Travels Khamis, Al-Juffali Corporation for Foods(Al Kabeer), Abha, Abdel Hadi Abdullah Al Qahtani & Sons — Pepsi Cola, Abha, Al Injazat Trading Corporation, Khamis.

The highlight of the evening was a raffle draw organized by Gulf Air in which two tickets for worldwide destinations were given away.
