RIYADH, 23 October 2004 — National Chemical Carriers (NCC) and Hyundai Mipo Dockyard have signed contracts for construction of four new chemical carriers worth a total value of SR625 million ($166 million).
With these four additional contracts, NCC now has a total of 10 ships on order at Hyundai Mipo Dockyard with a combined DWT of 462,000 tons and a total value of approximately SR1.36 billion ($364 million). The four ships will be delivered late 2007 or early 2008. The contracts were signed by Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Zamil, chairman of NCC and M.S. Byun, senior vice president of Hyundai Mipo Dockyard. The signing ceremony was attended by Abdullah Mohanna, chief executive of NCC.
