JEDDAH, 6 November 2004 — Crown Prince Abdullah yesterday said that the King Abdul Aziz National Dialogue Center would play an effective role in fighting fanaticism and extremism and create a suitable atmosphere for constructive debate. Speaking to the dialogue center’s top officials, Prince Abdullah called upon Saudis to follow the moderate teachings of Islam.
Prince Abdullah earlier received the center’s annual report from Saleh Al-Hosayn, chairman of the organization, who said the center was instrumental in strengthening national unity within the framework of Islamic faith and promoting a culture of dialogue in Saudi society. The center organized three dialogue sessions in Riyadh, Makkah and Madinah focusing on vital issues such as extremism, terrorism, education unemployment and women’s rights.
