RAHEMA, 29 November 2004 — Hamad Al-Yami, a 46 year-old Saudi has an unsual distinction, Al-Watan reported. He has 45 children — 35 sons and 10 daughters. He has had six wives though only three are married to him at present. His oldest son, born in 1973, is 31 while the youngest is only 10 months old. Al-Yami says he spends more than SR10,000 a month on his family. During Eid and Ramadan, his expenses doubled. He said he had never had a problem finding names for his children because of the richness of Arabic. He added, “We should not worry about the population because in China, the population is over one billion and it is a strong country.”
