JEDDAH, 3 December 2004 — Prince Sultan ibn Fahd, president of the Saudi Football Federation, approved the names of nine Ittihad players that will join the training camp for the Saudi national team in Dammam soon.

The players are Saud Kariri, Marzook Al-Otaibi, Ibrahim Suwaid, Muhammad Nur, Osama Al-Muwallad, Hamad Al-Muntasheri, Reda Tukar, Meshal Al-Saeed and Khamis Al-Owairan. The manager of the team, Fahd Al-Musaibeeh, said the announcement came after their stirring performance against the Koreans in the second leg of the Asian Champions League final on Wednesday in Sungnam.

Prince Sultan ibn Fahd and Prince Nawaf ibn Faisal, deputy president of the Saudi Football Federation, congratulated the Ittihad team for their great achievement.

In another development, the management of the national team expelled Saeed Al-Harbi, Abdulrahman Al-Zahrani and Muhammad Abu Athab from the camp after showing below par performances. Their inclusion in the team for Gulf Cup, which is starting in the next couple of days in Qatar, are also doubtful.
