Omega
Omega’s latest creation for ladies adds a bold feminine touch to a classic watch-making design, sumptuously decorated with diamonds and a choice of 10 different precious stones covering the entire “gemstone rainbow.” The striking stainless-steel case of the Omega Aquarella collection, based on an original Omega design from the 1930s, is fully paved with diamonds on the lugs and bezel. This creates a bold ladies’ piece, which is complemented by a white mother-of-pearl dial and matching white alligator leather strap. Nevertheless, the watch retains elements of its classic look, such as the luminous Arabic numerals, graduated minute track and period squelette hands with luminous material and a small seconds dial at 6 o’clock. Underneath the stunning beauty of the exterior lies the proven reliability of a self-winding Omega movement. The caliber 2200 used in each watch has received official chronometer certification from the official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute.
Chrysler/Magna Steyr
Unprecedented worldwide demand for the new 300C has led the Chrysler Group and Magna Steyr to grow their production relationship by forming a manufacturing agreement for the vehicles for European and rest-of-the-world distribution, including the Middle East. The region already receives Jeep Grand Cherokee and the Chrysler Grand Voyager vehicles built at Magna Steyr’s Graz facility in Austria. “Since the introduction of the Chrysler 300C in markets outside of North America, the public response to the vehicles has been greater than we expected. For next year, demand from the markets is far beyond our original projections,” said Chrysler Group President and Chief Executive Officer Dieter Zetsche. Magna Steyr will assemble the various offerings of the Chrysler 300C Touring and Sedan and the high- performance SRT-8. The vehicles will be assembled in the same facility as the Grand Cherokee and Voyager, showcasing Magna’s production flexibility.
Giorgio Armani
For his autumn-winter 2004-05 men’s collection, Giorgio Armani features a new softness and fluidity that give a loose and restrained look to jackets. Baggy trousers are out of fashion, replaced by a well-proportioned cut that complements the style of Armani’s new jackets and shirts. Jersey and jacquard are the most popular fabrics for the new look jackets. The “Beckham” jacket is tailored in wool jersey backed with jersey organza that strengthens and supports the almost liquid, fluid line, while the “George’ jacket introduces a new silhouette with sleeves and shoulders in pure Armani style but softened and streamlined to give the slightest suggestion of power. All jackets are embellished with luxurious linings and finished to the highest specification. To emphasize the new lines and comfortable styling, the fabrics display conspicuous geometric patterns that are reinforced by casual mixing and matching. “Look out for the black and white tin-striped trousers,” says a Rubaiyat spokesman.
