DUBAI, 8 December 2004 — Dubailand yesterday announced that “Dubai Bazaar” — a traditional Islamic marketplace or souk — will be built near the famed downtown, the grand entrance to Dubailand.
Dubailand said the project has been allocated 2 million square feet of prime land. Leading UAE business house, The Leader Group, will develop the unique project at an estimated cost of AED500 million. The signing ceremony took place at the Dubailand offices in Emirates Towers. Abdul Raheem Tayeb Al-Awadhi, CEO of The Leader Group and Salem ibn Dasmal, CEO of Dubailand, signed the contract. Also present at the event was Samir Tayeb Al-Awadhi, vice-chairman of The Leader Group.
