Skydiving Championship’s Final Ceremony Today

JEDDAH, 17 December 2004 — Makkah Governor Prince Abdul Majeed will preside the final ceremony of the 4th Jeddah International Skydiving Championship today. He will distribute the trophies, awards and medals to the winning teams from 12 participating countries.

The objectives of the 10-day championship, which drew a large number of fans daily, have been to demonstrate the Kingdom’s sports capabilities and achievements in skydiving, enable skydivers to meet their counterparts from other countries, and exchange ideas and develop their skills, and highlight the achievements of the Saudi Aviation Club (SAC), with Prince Sultan ibn Salman ibn Abdul Aziz as its chairman and secretary general of the Supreme Commission for Tourism (SCT). The SCT, SAC, Saudi Arabian Airlines and Saudia World Holidays are among the sponsors of the championship who will be honored on the occasion.

“It was thrilling and exciting to watch the skydivers performing their skills,” Ahmed Al-Gourmi, a local skydiver said. The events attracted a large number of fans.
