JEDDAH, 5 January 2005 — The four top teams, led by frontrunners Al-Ahli, play away matches today and tomorrow in the 12th round of the King Fahd Cup Soccer Tournament.
Jeddah-based Ahli and Al-Ittihadh, will be hosted by Al-Riyadh club in Riyadh and Al-Ohod in Madinah respectively, while Al-Hilal, another Riyadh-based team, visit Hail to face Al-Taie in the three games scheduled today.
Riyadh’s Al-Shabab, third in the standings behind Ahli and Hilal, travel to Madinah for a match tomorrow against Al-Ansar.
The other matches tomorrow pit Al-Nasr against Al-Qadiseya in Riyadh and Al-Wehda against Al-Itttifaq in Makkah.
Hilal are looking for a win to reclaim the lead but then Taie are no pushovers, and besides Ahli themselves will be trying to consolidate their position at the top.
Ahli have 24 points so far, with Hilal a point behind at 23, while Shabab have 21 and Ittihad 19.
