BEIRUT, 8 January 2005 — A Lebanese opposition MP who survived an assassination attempt last year has been successfully operated on for a brain hemorrhage, his family said yesterday.
Druze MP and former minister Marwan Hamadeh was the target of a car bomb attack in Beirut last October after he resigned in protest at the Lebanese Parliament’s three-year extention of pro-Syrian President Emile Lahoud’s mandate.
