RIYADH, 11 January 2005 — A Saudi national was killed by the tidal waves that struck India’s Kerala region, Al-Watan newspaper reported yesterday.

Ahmad ibn Abdul Aziz Al-Issa, 48, was buried Sunday in the Kingdom’s eastern town of Abqaiq “after his body was identified by his family ... and collected from the Saudi Consulate in Bombay,” the newspaper said.

Issa is the first Saudi known to have been killed by tsunami on Dec. 26.
