LAWRENCE, Kan., 21 January 2005 — Wayne Simien was the only Kansas player in double figures with 12 points, as the second-ranked Jayhawks held on for a thrilling 59-57 win over Nebraska in Big 12 action from Allen Fieldhouse.

J.R. Giddens and Keith Langford both had nine points for Kansas (14-0, 4-0 Big 12).

Joe McCray had an outstanding game for Nebraska (8-6, 2-2) with a game-high 19 points and seven rebounds. Wes Wilkinson added 16 points for the Cornhuskers, who have dropped two in a row after a four-game winning streak.

At Coral Gables, Fla., Shelden Williams poured in 30 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead fourth-ranked Duke over Miami-Florida, 92-83, in an Atlantic Coast Conference battle. J.J. Redick tallied 21 points and Daniel Ewing netted 16 points for the Blue Devils (14-0, 4-0 ACC), who remained one of four undefeated teams in the country. Guillermo Diaz led the way for Miami (12-4, 3-2), scoring 25 points in the loss. The Hurricanes saw their three-game winning streak in conference play come to an end.

In Clemson, S.C., Rashad McCants scored a game-high 23 points and also dished out six assists, as sixth-ranked North Carolina pounded Clemson, 77-58, at Littlejohn Coliseum.

Marvin Williams posted 12 points and eight rebounds for the Tar Heels (15-2, 4-1 ACC), who rebounded from Saturday’s loss to Wake Forest.

In Oxford, Miss., Rajon Rondo scored 13 points to lead the eighth-ranked Kentucky Wildcats past Ole Miss, 53-50, in a Southeastern Conference matchup at Tad Smith Coliseum.

Kelenna Azubuike added 11 points for the Wildcats (13-2, 4-0 SEC), who have won three straight and nine of their last 10.

Tommie Eddie scored a game-high 14 points for the Running Rebels (11-7, 2-3 SEC), who led for most of the game.

In Chestnut Hill, Mass., Jared Dudley finished with a career-high 36 points and hit a pair of free throws with 5.5 seconds left to help ninth-ranked Boston College hold off Villanova, 67-66, at Conte Forum.

In Louisville, Ky., Brandon Jenkins scored 14 points and four other Louisville players reached double-figures, as the 14th-ranked Cardinals routed fellow Conference USA member East Carolina, 92-41, at Freedom Hall.

In Cincinnati, Jason Maxiell scored a game-high 23 points and Nick Williams added 22, leading 20th-ranked Cincinnati to an 80-58 win over Charlotte in Conference USA action from Fifth Third Arena.
