RIYADH, 2 March 2005 — Saudi Research & Publishing Company (SRPC) and Emirates Media (EM) on Monday signed an agreement for advertisements exchange.

As per the agreement, Al-Khaleejiah Advertising & Public Relations Company, an affiliate of Saudi Research & Marketing Group (SRMG), becomes EM’s advertisement representative in the Saudi market.

The accord was reached following a meeting of the joint board of directors of EM and SRMG at the Saudi company’s headquarters in Riyadh.

Dr. Azzam M. Al-Dakhil, SRMG’s executive vice president and SRPC’s managing director, and Ahmed Ali Baloushi, director general of Emirates Media, signed the accord.

“The agreement aims at coordinating and publishing media campaigns through the media outlets owned by the two groups,” a press statement said.

The board meeting was chaired by Baloushi and Dr. Al-Dakhil and attended by Arif Al-Awani, director of printing and distribution at the UAE company and Dr. Fahd Al-Saeed, director general of Saudi Distribution Company.

The meeting, which was in line with a coalition agreement signed by the two media groups in London last year, discussed a number of reports related to distribution, printing and advertisements.

Meanwhile, the EM’s delegation visited the printing center of Al-Madinah Printing & Publishing Company, an affiliate of SRMG, in Riyadh.

Majed Ghurab, director general of Al-Madinah company, briefed the delegation on the printing technology used by the firm and the company’s performance.

“It is worth mentioning that within the framework of the coalition agreement between the two groups, Al-Eqtisadiah business daily, an SRPC publication started printing at EM’s press in the UAE last Saturday,” the statement said.

In a related development reflecting the strong cooperation between the two sides, Asharq Al-Awsat Arabic daily of SRPC will be printed at EM’s facility by the middle of this month, the statement added.
