RIYADH, 10 March 2005 — Unica Aldrei and Eric Millanar grabbed the last Team of the Week and Bowler of the Week awards to go on offer at the end of eliminations during the 28th session in the Carry Fast Cargo Sunday Night Bowling League at the Riyadh Bowling Club lanes here.
Unica elbowed out D’Mavelous for the team honors via the countback after they both posted 25 points. Unica carded the better pinfalls of 3,283 in crushing Born 2 Bowl who returned nine points and total pinfalls of 3,064.
D’Marvelous, the designated unmatched team in action of the week, totalled 3,247 pinfalls. If anything the performance was a psychological boost ahead of their head-to-head matches against leader Carry Dot Fast in the semifinal and final.
But Carry Dot, though ahead by 25 points, also did something in that direction crushing Makshaff 24-2 on total pinfalls of 3,189-2,766.
D’X Factor blanked no-show Schneider Electric 23-0 (3,161) and Unlimited VII downed F! 18-15 (3,102-3,041) in the other matches in the four-man team league event sponsored by Carry Fast Cargo through GM Dennis Quiambao and sales manager Ramon Cruz. The other sponsors are Abbar & Zainy Cold Stores, through branch manager Nino Carella, and Majid Al-Hokair.
Millanar parried some of the blows his team Makshaff received from Carry Dot as he emerged the top individual performer. He shot the high series of 893 on rounds of 204, 186, 238, 137 and 128 handicap.
Unica bowled solid all evening thanks to the four good men namely Ramon Catipon with 870, Armin Isles with 819, Rey Moya with 816 and Jojo Gabriel with 778.
Jim Lasaca with 879 and Nestor Tercio with 812 led an equally explosive D’Marvelous quartet that also included Elmer Penoso wth 805 and Benito Santos with 751.
Carry Dot used five players with Fhel Ramos falling just short for the individual honors with 892. Sammy San Juan added 807, Ed Dalisay 790, Ronald Bautista 527 and Ramon Cruz 173. D’X Factor also had a good day with their quartet of William Ybay (839), Edwin Pecson (829), Romy Goliat (784) and Egay Soriano (709).
