DAMMAM, 5 April 2005 — Indian Ambassador M.O.H. Farook assured all help and assistance in tackling the problems of the community during his visit to the Eastern Province recently.
The community, represented by Needs of Indian-International Community Education (NEEDS), Gulf Malayalee Federation (GMF) and United NRIs for Indo Arab & Enterprise (UNITE), listed the difficulties faced by the community, especially in the matter of education of children due to the lack of school facility in Khafji, a town bordering Kuwait.
NICE Arabia, whose local chapter is represented by P.G. S. Menon, Professor Nizar Kathungal and Rajan R. Nambiar, offered to establish a viable communication system to meet the educational needs of the community. GMF Secretary Sunil Prakanam referred to the problems faced by housemaids and emphasized the need for preparing a database and documentation at the diplomatic mission level to address their problems.
UNITE coordinator Abdul Hubb pointed out the difficulties faced by the business community in visiting this part of the world. “The ambassador promised all help and administrative support and invited a delegation of the organizations to visit him in Riyadh for further discussion,” Menon said. Second Secretary C.K. Damodaran accompanied the ambassador.
