BHOPAL, 6 April 2005 — The Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, (BHEL), Bhopal unit has recorded a turnover of Rs.15.33 billion. The profit before tax was also a new time high of Rs.1.52 billion.
P. T. Deo, executive director, BHEL, Bhopal unit, made this announcement while addressing a press conference here on Monday on completion of the financial year 2004-05. While highlighting the achievements of BHEL, Bhopal, he informed that the target for the fiscal year 2005-06 has been fixed as Rs.19.53 billion. This turnover target would be Rs.27.50 billion by the year 2009-10, he added.
Giving details about the orders, Deo said that Bhopal Unit has on hand orders worth Rs.24.24 billion, which is 45 percent more than the previous year. The position of cash receipt is also encouraging and this year the total cash receipt was Rs.16.02 billion, which is 10 percent higher than the previous year.
BHEL, Bhopal was planning to go in a big way for renovation and upgradation of oil rigs of ONGC. Also BHEL plans to meet the new requirements of Indian Railways.
