BHOPAL, 7 April 2005 — Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and All-India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary Digvijay Singh participated in the International Festival of Thinkers, recently organized in Abu Dhabi. Digvijay was the only Indian invited to the festival.
Eighteen people from different countries, including 10 Nobel Prize winners, were invited to the festival organized from March 26 to 30. The objective of the festival was to discuss the challenges before the world and their possible solutions.
Addressing the gathering, Digvijay highlighted the importance of water and energy in the globe. Terming water and energy as the basis of human life, he said: “The challenges of discovering better resources and their protection are before us. The challenges could be faced effectively by dealing with them on a priority basis.” The gathering applauded the process of enlisting people’s participation in implementing different schemes.
