Djibouti Athletics Team in an Accident

JEDDAH, 12 April 2005 — The Djibouti athletics team met with a terrible accident on the Jeddah-Makkah Expressway. On their way to Makkah, the bus they were riding in was hit from the back by a car, leaving many injured. Among the injured were the coach who suffered bruises in the back and an athlete who broke his hand putting an end to his participation in the games. The injured were later released after treatment at a hospital.

Financial Rewards for Madinah Basketball Fans

MADINAH, 12 April 2005 — The Saudi Basketball Federation headed by Prince Talal ibn Badr is putting up a daily cash prize of SR5,000 to be raffled off among spectactors at Al-Ansar Club and at Prince Muhammad ibn Abdul Aziz Sports City. The cash incentive is meant to encourage Saudi fans to watch basketball games in Madinah.
