DUBAI: Stefano Domenicali, the president and CEO of Formula One, has said that the 2026 races in Abu Dhabi and Qatar are “confirmed,” despite ongoing speculation due to the political situation in the region.
Domenicali revealed the news during a media interview on F1’s official website. He added that he was looking forward to the rest of the season with “a lot of positivity.”
Speaking in the wake of the Hungarian Grand Prix, he praised the decision to host the Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia, thanking both countries for their cooperation in the matter.
He struck an optimistic tone regarding the season’s remaining races, and mentioned Abu Dhabi and Qatar.
Domenicali said: “With regards to the end of the season, we are in touch with all the other championships. The way that we are structured is that we will take the maximum time for us to see how the situation will develop, and we will take the decision at the right time.
“That moment will not be before the middle of September. For us today, the races in Qatar and Abu Dhabi are confirmed.”
