Counter-Strike Source, a remake of the popular award-winning Counter-Strike and based on Half-Life 2 engine, once again puts terrorists against counterterrorist in modern-day scenarios. In this review, we’ll take at a look at the game’s graphics, sounds, multiplayer and gameplay.

Graphics:

Counter-Strike source possess one of the best graphics in the game industry. Thanks to source engine, the games underwent some major face-lifts producing outstanding details ranging from the realistic water effect to the outstanding detailed weapons. Certainly, graphics are one of the best aspects of the game.

Sounds:

The sounds are equally supreme and play a crucial role in tactics and strategy. Noise produced from footstep changes depending on the surface type. In addition, footsteps are almost muted when walk mode is engaged.. Furthermore, Weapons’ sound effect is unique and can easily warn the player on his opponent’s weapon.

Multiplayer:

Typically, Counter-Strike preserves the classic Counter-Strike objectives. Depending on the team’s type, each map has one of two objectives, either rescue the hostages, or plant the bomb. In addition, each team has a unique range of weapons selection. The gameplay is pretty fast paced. Players must harness their skills and weapons selection to accomplish their objectives. Moreover, the physical effect and rag-doll effect add a unique flavor to the gameplay. Although the game lacks huge number of maps and models, it’s still addictive.

Gameplay:

Since Counter-Strike source lacks campaign and single-player mode, Gameplay section has been added to multiplayer section.

To finish off, Counter-Strike source definitely delivers the goods in all aspects. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see the game regain of the most popular multiplayer game title. The good news is a free copy of the game is included with each Half-life 2 copy. Counter strike source is a must for every FPS fan.
