RIYADH, 28 April 2005 — Prince Faisal ibn Khalid ibn Abdul Aziz, deputy governor of Asir Province, honored Al-Rajhi Banking & Investment Corp. for winning two awards as the best company for Saudizing jobs, and the best company for training for the year 1424 and 1425 in Asir Province.
The awards were presented to the bank during the launch of a national media campaign for training and Saudization held last week in the region which was organized by the Council of Technical Training and Learning (CTTL) in Asir region. The council nominated Al-Rajhi to be the only bank to be honored during on the occasion. Hamad ibn Abdullah Al-Subei, bank human resources manager who is delegated to represent the bank received the awards from Asir’s deputy governor, and in return he presented a plaque to Prince Faisal on behalf of the company.
Al-Rajhi also participated in the campaign through a special display in the exhibit organized during the occasion and had received numbers of unemployed Saudi youth. It distributed job application forms prior to pre-screening to identify the suitable applicants.
Hamad Al-Subei said that the company is implementing a major plan for employment in compliance with the national campaign for employing the job seekers, initiated by the Ministry of Labor years ago successfully. “This plan aims to give a break through the Saudi youth in involving themselves in the banking sector, which is one of the important and vibrant sectors that produced a high percentage of Saudization” he added.
He said that the company is running an advertising campaign to target females and male diploma holders, such as accounting, marketing, IT, bank processors, administration, statistic, and executive secretaries. Also, the company is keeping advertising its needs in these jobs in obvious manner at its employments offices under labor offices Kingdomwide in order to support their efforts and their campaigns and absorb Saudis qualified from different regions.
So far, 400-500 job seekers have been employed as result of this campaign among which 50 new employees were absorbed without experience requirements since the company adopted years ago a training program as part of the main work.
Al-Rajhi is providing its new employees with training program including inside and outside preparation in accordance with the specializations and departments requirements where they are absorbed. Since the company is investing in human resources development considering it as the main aspect for its success and improving its business. Also, the company measures that as part of its contribution in Saudization program and nationalizing jobs through preparing the youth and providing them with necessary skills for the jobs.
