CAIRO, 1 May 2005 — After the long break in the filming of the movie “Halim” due to the tragic death of prominent Egyptian actor Ahmad Zaki, who was to play the lead role as the late Egyptian legend Abdul Halim Hafez, director Sharib Arafeh has resumed shooting after adding Haitham Zaki’s son Ahmad, to the cast. Haitham will be taking over his father’s role.

Fortunately, because of his strong resemblance to his father, he did not need too much makeup to step in to his fathers shoes.

The director of the film waited until the mourning period for the late actor was over to resume filming of the new movie. In addition to Haitham, a number of prominent stars from Egypt and Syria will play major roles. Haitham will play the role of Abdul Halim in his early years. The producers of the film felt that he was the best candidate for the role, persuaded by his promising talent as an actor.
