RIYADH, 2 May 2005 — The Riyadh unit of the Muslim Educational Society (MES) has elected new officials for the next two years.
Mohamed Ashraf P.V. is the new president while Mohamed Iqbal and Mohamed Peedika are vice presidents. Nissar Ahmed has been elected secretary, Ahmed Koya treasurer and Abdul Hameed Naha and Sathar Kayamkulam have been elected joint secretaries, a press statement said.
MES in Riyadh has decided to promote its scholarship scheme as it currently provides financial support to deserving students for higher studies. “Annually our unit distributes over 300,000 Indian rupees on scholarship,” the new president said.
