RIYADH, 4 May 2005 — The Islamic Solidarity Fund will give loans for self-employment projects to the tsunami victims in Sri Lanka. The fund will implement the project through the Islamic Center in Colombo headed by Mohamed Haniffa Mohamed, former Sri Lankan speaker and founder member of the Constituent Council of the Makkah-based Muslim World League. The first installment of $60,000 out of $200,000 was handed over to Mohamed on Wednesday during his meeting with the executive director of the ISF, Fouad Al-Maznae, at the OIC headquarters.
