BEIRUT, 31 May 2005 — After shooting her latest music video in the Greek islands, Lebanese singer Diana Haddad is reviewing the script for the upcoming film “Shu’oori Nahietak” (My Feelings Towards You), written by Fadwa Mohammad and to be directed by Saleem Al-Bazz. Haddad is impressed with the script and will accept the leading role, which will mark her debut on the silver screen.
The rest of the cast has yet to be chosen. Next, Haddad will travel to Cairo to finish recording the songs for her upcoming album. She has chosen the cover for the album, selecting a photograph of herself from the variety of photos she keeps on hand for interviews and the like.
Recently, Haddad offered her opinion regarding the power the press, blaming the media for making stars out of unqualified people.
She believes the publicity given to singers is often the driving force behind their success. The singer claims to personally know several women singers who possess little talent; however the media helped them build careers based on their looks alone.
