RIYADH, 7 June 2005 — The owner of a private clinic was shocked when he discovered that SR240,000 was missing from his account, Al-Watan reported. The bank manager said that the amount had been withdrawn over a period of time. When police investigated, they found that one of the nurses was buying expensive clothes and that she had SR50,000 in her account. When asked to explain, she refused and was released for lack of evidence. Another employee of the clinic who seemed to have plenty of money was then questioned. He confessed that he had learned the owner’s bank PIN number and had used it to steal money. He had bought a new car, sent money to his country and given the nurse SR50,000 as a dowry after promising to marry her. The employee is being investigated and the owner of the clinic has managed to get some of his money back.
