Police Solve Mystery in Madinah Colonel’s Murder

MADINAH, 7 June 2005 — Gen. Ahmad Al-Raddadi, the director of the Madinah police, has announced the arrest of four Pakistanis who murdered a retired colonel, Daher Al-Orwi, 72, in Madinah last week.

The leader of the group was arrested in Makkah dressed in Saudi national dress. The motive for the crime was theft.

Gen. Al-Raddadi said that those arrested were Shah Bakhsh, 35, Madhar Hassan, 34, Ejaz, 34 and Muhammad Hussein, 33.

The men broke into the colonel’s house and stole more than SR70,000 in cash as well as gold.

Gen. Al-Raddadi said police had included the cities of Jeddah, Makkah and Al-Qassim in the investigation.
