JEDDAH, 21 June 2005 — A local company has paid blood money to the families of four Egyptians who died in their employ, Al-Madinah newspaper reported.
The company responsible for the workers was forced to pay a sum of SR400,000 and the expenses of transporting the bodies to Egypt.
Abdulrahman Al-Mufreh, media manager at the construction company where the four worked, said that representatives of the family received the bodies of their family members and that the bodies will be transported within two days to Egypt.
The four workers died after the walls of a trench collapsed on them at the depth of 10 meters in Al-Nahda neighborhood last Monday. It took several hours before the fire department was able to dig the bodies out.
