India Forum’s MC Constituted

JEDDAH, 26 June 2005 — India Forum’s new management committee has been constituted, which becomes effective from July 1. At a meeting held at the Consulate General of India on Friday, the forum elected unopposed seven members of the new committee. Five others were nominated by Consul General Dr. Ausaf Sayeed, vice patron of the forum.

Ten applications were received for the election of six members of the committee. Three of them were rejected, which left seven candidates in the fray. Using his discretionary power, the consul general declared all seven elected unopposed.

The consul general said transparency was ensured in the election process.

Following are the new office-bearers of the 12-member committee — Abdul Kader Khan, president; Murtuza Hussain Siddiqui, general secretary (nominated), Danish Abdul Ghafoor, program coordinator (nominated), and V.V. Varghese, treasurer (nominated).

New management committee members are Syed Sharique Ali, Dr. Imamuddin Ghouse Mohideen, Mohammad Salabat Lodhi, Mohammed Mateen Ahmed, Shabbir Patel (nominated) Amir Dawood Patel, Mohammed Feroz Khan, (all elected) and Jagannath Shetty (nominated).

For the first time, two women coordinators — Roopali Dey and Sheeba Aslam Ebad Khan — have been nominated.
