RIYADH, 10 July 2005 — The deadline for Mobily’s promotional offer, which began on June 11, ends today.
The offer involved monthly 56 free minutes and SMSs all through the year for all users of its prepaid and postpaid SIM cards.
Since the launch of Mobily, the brand name of Etihad Etisalat, on May 25, it has been offering value-added services for holders of its prepaid and postpaid SIM cards. In addition, its prepaid SIM card users are able to receive the international roaming facility - the first of its kind across the Kingdom.
Mobily has just opened its head office under the sponsorship of Abdullah Al-Blihd in Riyadh. The office is located on Olaya Street, Prince Abdullah Road, next to Sahara Commercial Center.
“As announced, Mobily will offer an all-new service including the promotional ringtone that will continue through summer,” Marketing General Manager Ahmad Al-Hosny said.
During the first month of Mobily service, and for the first time in the Kingdom, all users of its seven bouquets — whether holding pre- or postpaid cards, received free and added services including “Look for a friend” and multimedia service (MMS).
In addition, services such as missed calls while the phone was out of service, SMS, call waiting, conference calls, voice mails, and cellular Internet with 200 kb/second were also provided. Other services on offer including “Mobily on air” enable users to browse, download political, cultural, social and athletic news. The “Look for a friend” service, which began with the introduction of Mobily service, has been in use for the first time in the Kingdom, Hosny added.
Mobily has 900 points of sale in 32 cities including in Jeddah on Tahlia and Al Andalus streets, and Alkhobar on Dhahran Street.
“Mobily also has a sales point exclusively for ladies run by a female staff,” he added.
The number of Mobily net subscribers reached 220,000 until a few days ago. Its call center is claimed to be receiving an overwhelming number of inquiries daily.
