JEDDAH, 11 July 2005 — Plans are already under way for a wedding fair, described as the first-ever in this part of the world. Many national, regional and international companies are expected to participate in the fair, which is being held here to highlight and promote various aspects and requirements related to weddings.
“The Wedding Fair 2006 will be the first of its kind in Jeddah and the Kingdom, and we’ll be putting up a huge tent for it,” said Sameera A. Bitar, chief executive officer of 2Gather, a company that focuses on new concepts for Eid Al-Fitr and Eid Al-Adha celebrations as well as weddings.
“We’re a two-year-old event management and public relations company and now have a track record of organizing special events, seminars, conferences, and product and service launches, aside from scores of high-profile weddings,” Bitar said at her office in Jeddah’s Farsi Center. “You dream... We fulfill” is the company’s slogan, said Bitar, who is a business administration graduate from a US university.
The schedule and venue for the fair will be announced soon.
“We take meticulous care of every aspect of a wedding, from A to Z — from invitation cards to wedding dresses and receptions to suit everyone’s pocket,” Bitar said. “We provide exciting, creative solutions designed to meet individual needs. Sit back and relax as we make your event pleasurable and worry-free,” she said, noting that wedding arrangements including location, catering, lighting and other effects are all taken care of.
“Details, such as venue, catering, visas for guests, giveaway items, transportation, music and entertainment, hall decorations, hairdressing and makeup, photography and videos, cars and honeymoon package are all included when we organize a wedding or an event,” she said.
“We don’t subscribe to the belief that a company should concentrate its efforts only on business,” Bitar said. “We do discharge social responsibility, and environmental protection is one of the many social awareness projects the company is undertaking.”
The company is launching a sustained campaign on environmental protection with an interactive conference on protecting Red Sea marine life after the current vacation season ends.
