JEDDAH, 3 August 2005 — The Ministry of Commerce and Industry issued a decision on temporary lifting the ban on meat and poultry products from Taiwan. The ministry has implemented a ban on these imports two weeks ago from Cambodia, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Laos because of the spread of bird flue disease in these countries. The ministry revised its decision regarding meat and poultry products from Taiwan after it reviewed the OIE (International Organization for Animal Health) report showing that Taiwan has been free of the virus for the past twelve months.
