Fahd’s Wife Receives Foreign Dignitaries

RIYADH, 13 August 2005 — Princess Aljowhara, the wife of King Fahd, as well as the daughters of King Abdul Aziz and King Fahd received a number of foreign dignitaries including Queen Rania of Jordan and Susan Mubarak of Egypt, who came to convey their condolences on King Fahd’s death.

According to a report carried by the Saudi Press Agency, Princess Aljowhara received the foreign delegates over the past week. Other prominent women delegates were Princess Hasana, sister of King Muhammad of Morocco, Sheikha Sabeeka, wife of Bahrain’s king, and Sheikha Lateefa Al-Fahd, wife of the Kuwaiti crown prince.

The princess also received Sheikha Fatma bint Mubarak, wife of Sheikh Zayed, Sheikha Mahra, wife of the ruler of Ras Al-Khaimah, Princess Haya, wife of the crown prince of Dubai, and Sheikha Hussa, mother of Bahrain’s king.

Nazik Hariri, wife of the Lebanese premier, Suha Arafat, wife of former Palestinian President Yasser Arafat, and Sheikha Mouza, wife of Qatar’s emir, were other prominent personalities who came to extend their condolences.

Meanwhile, the imams of the Two Holy Mosques yesterday urged Saudis to extend their full support to the new leadership saying it was their religious duty.

Delivering their Friday sermons at the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah they said people’s pledge of allegiance to their leadership would strengthen the country and defeat the enemies of Islam.
