HP has reclaimed the leadership position in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) notebook PC market, according to a Canalys report released July 25. HP recaptured the top spot in EMEA for notebooks with 16.4 percent market share. HP’s unit shipments for the notebook segment in EMEA grew at 55.5 percent year-over-year, 11.1 percent more than the industry growth rate, according to the analyst firm’s second quarter research. HP has become much more aggressive in the EMEA market, with particular strength in the Middle East, commented Canalys within its Critique PC market report.
