Fictitious Manager Satisfies Ministry

DAMMAM, 30 August 2005 — In a single day, a man was hired as a manager in a private company and then demoted to the position of worker in order to satisfy the requirements of the Ministry of Commerce which says that a manager must be a Saudi, Okaz daily reported. The fictitious manager sued the company in the labor court. The man refused to leave his managerial post as long as the authorities recognized him as a manager. The labor office acknowledged receiving the man’s complaint and contacted the company through the police.
