Stores Selling Fake Products Closed

JEDDAH, 2 September 2005 — The anti-fraud department, part of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, received a number of complaints from businessmen about stores selling fake battery products. Teams from the anti-fraud department stormed into the stores and seized all fake products inside a battery store. The store was fined SR50,000 and confiscated the fake products to destroy them. The ministry has warned citizens to report about stores that sell fake products.
