TAIF, 6 September 2005 — A private girl’s school in Taif rejected many job applicants because they were married, Okaz newspaper reported. The school principal made it clear to job applicants that married teachers would never be accepted in his school. The reason for that, according to the school principal, was that single women would have no-one to support them and have alot of free time — which presumably they could spend working — while married women can receive support from their husbands and have something other than teaching to keep them busy.
