JEDDAH , 27 September 2005— An art and craft competition was organized as part of the ongoing India Festival at the International Indian School-Jeddah (IISJ) on Sunday.
More than 300 students took part in the competition, most of them from IISJ’s boys and girls sections. The other schools represented included Delhi Public School, Afnan, Manarul Uloom, Al-Mawarid and Al-Manarat,
Children produced some of the most artistic works on the spot during the two and a half hours contest. Indian Consul General Dr. Ausaf Sayeed announced the results and winners will be given prizes at the concluding ceremony of the festival on Friday.
Following are the results: Greeting cards (5-7 years) — Keerthawa, Almas Ashrat (both first from IISJ), Sharigha (second, Al-Mawarid), and Osman (IISJ); Seed Collage (8-10 years) — Mujahid M. Umar, Dipan Vitar Das (both first from IISJ), Syed Hisham (IISJ) and Sanofar Fathima (Afnan), both second, and Syed Adnan (IISJ) and Bhavathrami Krishnan (Manarul Uloom), both third; Scenery or landscape (11-14 years) — Jigo Varghese, Ashish Dinesh Babu, Deepu Suresh (all IISJ), Fathima Aboobacker (Afnan), Divya Mohan Prabha, Shamim Khan, Nihala K.
