TRIVANDRUM, 5 October 2005 — Etihad Etisalat-Mobily has tied up with Idea Cellular Ltd, one of India’s leading cellular phone operators that has a subscriber base of half a million in Kerala, to offer bilateral international roaming between Saudi Arabia and the southern state that has huge presence in the Kingdom’s work force.
An Idea customer can log into the Kingdom’s cellular networks, Saudi Telecom Company (STC) and Mobily, and vice versa, an Idea statement said yesterday.
Idea offers international roaming in all the major countries and networks in the world to its postpaid and prepaid subscribers, it said.
Idea has a customer base of over 5 million spread in New Delhi, Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh-West and Kerala.
