RIYADH, 9 October 2005 — Saudi Arabia will participate in a G-20 meeting of finance ministers and central bank governors on Oct. 15 in the Chinese town of Xianghe, near Beijing. The Kingdom will be represented by Dr. Ibrahim Al-Assaf, minister of finance, and Hamad Al-Sayari, governor of Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA) at this meeting, which seeks to promote global cooperation and economic development. “Six top Saudi officials including Dr Al-Assaf and Al-Sayari will hold dialogue with a host of other officials including finance ministers and central bank governors representing G-20 member countries,” said a Chinese embassy spokesman, whose country holds the rotating chair of the group.
