JEDDAH, 10 October 2005 — Khaled ibn Abdul Aziz Al-Tuwaijeri has been appointed head of the Royal Court, it was announced yesterday. “He will replace Muhammad Al-Nuwaisser, who has been relieved upon his request,” the Saudi Press Agency said quoting a Royal Court statement.
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah issued a royal decree appointing Al-Tuwaijeri as head of the royal court in the rank of a minister. King Abdullah also named Khaled ibn Abdul Rahman Al-Eissa as deputy chief of the royal court.
In another development, King Abdullah yesterday approved the formation of a “competition protection council” proposed by Commerce and Industry Minister Dr. Hashem Yamani. The commerce minister is the chairman of the council. Its members are: Muhammad Amin Sindi, assistant deputy minister, Abdul Aziz Al-Bassam, assistant deputy finance minister, Bandar Al-Waily, adviser at the Ministry of Economy and Planning, Dr. Awad Al-Awad, deputy governor of the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority, Ibrahim Kurdi, Dr. Hassan Al-Mulla, Eissa Al-Eissa and Suleiman Al-Muhaideb.
