The International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium Inc. (ISC)2, the non-profit international leader in educating and certifying information security professionals worldwide, is launching its Authorized Academic Centers program at the League for Innovation Conference on Information Technology 2005 ongoing this week in Dallas, Texas.

The program is designed to allow accredited academic institutions and technical schools worldwide to offer students pursuing degrees in information security courses developed around the (ISC)2 CBKs, a compilation of the most comprehensive body of global best practices of information security topics developed for the information security profession for the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) credentials.

(ISC)2 Authorized Academic Centers will also be authorized to host (ISC)2 CBK Review Seminars and provide (ISC)2 authorized examinations on-site for students’ and any certification candidates’ convenience. Participating institutions will also be appointed as a “Trusted CPE Provider” by (ISC)2 so they may offer continuing professional education (CPE) credits for individuals who hold the CISSP or SSCP credential.
