Saudi Diyar Consultants recently received the “Architecture+ Awards 2004 — Design for a New World” award in the offices, retail and commercial category for the design of its 24 North Jeddah building on Prince Sultan Street. “The award is for a contextually strong and culturally sensitive work of architecture that absorbs the Kingdom’s rich architectural heritage, while delivering a contemporary commercial and retail space aptly fulfilling the client’s brief,” said the Architecture+ awards 2004 Master Jury in their citation. Diyar is a full-service design firm headquartered in Jeddah with offices in Riyadh, Alkhobar, Cairo, and Beirut. It offers comprehensive services in master planning and infrastructure, architecture and engineering, development management, and financial analysis. “Our clients appreciate the convenience and quality provided through the single source of responsibility approach,” Diyar’s Administration & Finance Manager Ahmad Adra said. Diyar’s experience covers a variety of project types for public and private clients. “Our experience includes hospitality/resorts, commercial, high-end residential buildings and compounds, and institutional and health care projects in the Middle East, North Africa and Europe,” Adra added. Dr. Hazem Sabbagh is the principal architect of the project, with Saad Laban as project manager. Diyar’s contribution also includes designing the project’s plumbing, lighting and signage design, aside from structural and civil designing.
