RIYADH, 25 October 2005 — Deep into the month of Ramadan Dirab Golf Club organized a Texas Scramble Tournament recently. The event, a team competition where each player takes alternate shots, was won by the team of Pete Kemp, Pedy Lualhati, Saad Al-Otaibi and Juan Rosado.
They won via the countback over the team of Fred Bazendale, Ian Holmes, Paul Maguire and Simon Wright after both teams scored a net 58. Kemp’s team played off a 10 handicap and Bazendale’s off 12.
The next three places were also decided by countback.
In third place, with a handicap of seven, were the team of David Michaud, Jake Infante, Danny Naval and Ben Bollozos.
Finishing in fourth were Dennis Sundell, Abdullah Wahid, Cage Woodward and Rob Partridge. They had a team handicap of 11.
The fifth position went to the team of Nduna Dzimiri, Louis Barker, Lily Bullard and Michael Flaherty.
All three teams shot a net score of 59.
The winners received trophies and gift vouchers from Dirab.
Bouchaib El Jadiani, golf manager at Dirab Golf and Recreation Center, organized the one-day fun event with assistance from his staff and Dirab committee members.
