JEDDAH, 29 October 2005 — Samsung Electronics, the regional and global leader in digital technology, has launched the ladies-exclusive E530 mobile phone in the Middle East. The phone, which comes packed with rich features such as a fragrance/aromatherapy guide, calorie counter and shopping list, aims to be the ultimate fashion accessory for women seeking the perfect mix of image and style.
Abdul Rahman F. Al-Amoudi, Samsung’s marketing manager for Saudi Arabia, said during the launching ceremony at Le Jeddah Meridien on Wednesday night that “the SGH-E530 is a beautiful mobile phone designed specifically for the modern Arab woman”.
Abbas Sayrafi, sales manager for Al-Mustaqbil Co., the agents for Samsung Co., said that the mobile phone market in the Middle East and Gulf region is growing very fast and Samsung’s market share is about 10 to 15 percent. “We consider Samsung second only to Nokia as there is no other competition,” he added.
The event was also attended by Samsung’s Senior Manager Taesang Park and Manager Jeon Jae Hyeon.
The phone integrates a premium-imaging phone with fun colors in a fashion form personalized to suit your style. Its unique oval design is curvy and compact to match one’s personal style. This new handset boasts superior mobility, music and imaging capabilities, a hip design, an enhanced user interface and outstanding performance. “Woman-friendly” features include a calorie counter, fragrance coordinator, and menstrual-cycle calendar.
Rich in more than one color, the dual screen 85g lightweight is laden with features including an eye-popping TFT LCD, a built-in 1.0 Megapixel CMOS camera with flash, 256K color TFT screen, video recording and messaging and an MP3 player with 92MB of user memory to back them up.
The E530 comes in five additional fun colors — Lavender pink, Valentine pink, Chic white, Oasis Blue and Festival orange — to coordinate with your fashion sense. The E530’s special user interface functions personalize your mobile with MMS information on fragrances, an alarm for biorhythms and a height and weight ration calculator, as well as a shopping list and pink schedule just for you. The E530 adds to the image clarity with a flash-LED and 4x digital zoom to create high-quality resolution (1152 x 864) pictures on the go in JPEG or GIF formats.
