RIYADH, 15 November 2005 — More than 5,000 unemployed Saudis stood in long lines to apply for 200 vacant jobs offered by the general administration for prisons, Al-Watan reported. The administration allowed just two hours to submit applications. This led to a huge commotion in front of the administration building and caused traffic jams in streets surrounding it since early morning. Many applicants lost hope of landing the job and left after they saw the large number of applicants.
