MADINAH, 9 December 2005 — Al-Wehda of Makkah crashed to 75-25 defeat in their Group A match against Al-Qadisiya in the Prince Faisal ibn Fahd basketball tournament here last night.
Playing at full strength, Qadisiya dominated the court and stunned their rivals with some incisive passes while scoring baskets frequently.
Wehda tried to regroup but foundered on the stiff defense of Qadisiya.
In Group B match, local favorites Al-Ansar lived up to their fans’ expectations by defeating visitors Al-Fateh 75-52.
Home court advantage played a key role in Ansar’s win.
In today’s matches, Al-Khaleej will play against Al-Fateh while Al-Ahli face Ansar in Group A.
Al-Nasr will take on Ohod of Madinah in Group B match.
