Prince Sultan to Discuss World Cup Preparations

RIYADH, 27 December 2005 — Prince Sultan ibn Fahd is going to meet Prince Nawaf ibn Faisal and the Brazilian coach Marcos Paqueta in his office in Riyadh to discuss the preparations of the first football team in the World Cup 2006. The Saudi football team will play many matches before the finals; two of them are scheduled. They will play against Sweden on Jan. 18 and against Poland on March 19.

Crown Prince Cup Begins Today

JEDDAH, 27 December 2005 — The Crown Prince Cup will begin today with four matches. In Riyadh, Ittihad is going to play against Riyadh, while Ahli will play an easy match against Abha in Jeddah. The strongest match in the round will be between Nasr and Ittifaq in Dammam. Finally, Wehda is going to play against Faisaly in Makkah.

Brazilian Bedrinho to Replace Ittihad’s Chico

JEDDAH, 27 December 2005 — The Brazilian Bedrinho is going to replace Chico after he left to Brazil. Bedrinho is one the three players that were suspended by FIFA in the Club World Championship. Ittihad will borrow his Brazilian striker Lema to Nasr to the end of this season. Finally, Mohammed Kallon will arrive in Jeddah tomorrow after his short vacation in London.

Prince Faisal Handball Cup: Ahli Take Lead

DAMMAM, 27 December 2005 — Al-Ahli handball team took the lead in Prince Fisal Cup after they beat Wehda in the 10th round 22-20. In other matches Qadiseya lost to Khaleej 27-29, Hilal beat Noor 25-13, Adala won against Moder 29-27 and finally Safa beat Tragi 28-17. The 10th round made Ahli, Qadiseya and Khaleej in the first place with 20 points, but Ahli have more goals.
