FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corporation, an international transportation company, has brought the world closer to its customers in the MENA region by introducing its services to Libya and Algeria through a network of global service participants (GSPs). FedEx is now able to connect Libya with the rest of the world. The company’s role as one of the world’s leading drivers of international trade will be a significant asset to Libya and its business community as the country works towards developing its economy and opening its market to the rest of the world. Algeria is an increasingly attractive centre for business. In addition to its rich natural resources the country’s strategic location on the Northern Coast of Africa makes it a major gateway to the African continent. It is also the seventh largest reserve of natural gas in the world and is the second largest gas exporter. “Our investment in Algeria and Libya is a demonstration of our commitment to the region and also of our confidence in the economic development of these countries,” said Hamdi Osman, VP, FedEx Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Africa.
