Arab Volleyball Contestants Up to 21

JEDDAH, 9 January 2006 — The number of teams participating in the Arab Volleyball Championship at the Prince Faisal ibn Fahd Cup increased to 21. The event will take place in Damascus on Jan. 20-28. Teams will be divided into four groups and the draw will take place on Jan. 19. Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ahli is participating in this competition. Ahli will hold a training camp in Egypt on Wednesday in which the team will play four friendly matches.

Training Camp for National Soccer Team

RIYADH, 9 January 2006 — The national team will hold a training camp on Saturday in which 30 players will join the camp after they were chosen by the coach. All of these players will be away from their teams in rounds 14, 15 and 16 of the Saudi Football League. The training camp is in preparation for the friendly international tournament in Riyadh, which includes South Korea, Finland and Greece.

Al-Ahli Preparing to Compete in Gulf Cup

JEDDAH, 9 January 2006 — It is expected that Al-Ahli of Jeddah will participate in the 22nd Gulf Cup, which will be held for the first time in two countries, Saudi Arabia and Oman. Twelve teams will participate in the cup and will be divided into two groups that will play home and away matches. Hilal club, the champion of Crown Prince Cup, will participate in the competition.
